Lake District Tweed Neck warmer - Coniston
Handcrafted from tweed woven from the fleeces of sheep grazing the Lake District fells, this tweed carries the strength, character, and beauty of this unique landscape. Every thread is 100% local wool, crafted in the North West of England using skills rooted in centuries of tradition. Durable, sustainable, and timeless, Lake District Tweed is made to last a lifetime — a cloth to be worn, cherished, and passed on.
Each tweed is produced from fleeces from each specific valley creating a "hefted" cloth - a word routed in the cumbrian language, meaning the home area of each farmers flock of sheep. With no fences on the fells the sheep learn their home range from their mothers and stay within the home boundaries without any physical barriers. By keeping the wool for each tweed hefted to their own valley, each tweed has a unique character and sustainability.
